Cold Outside? FREE HEAT PACK, (With Plant Purchase)
Our heat packs are free. We feel that if they're necessary to get your plants to you safe and sound then they're a cost of doing business. You should not have to pay for that. So, free heat packs. That said heat packs can harm the plants if they get too hot and they're not always stable. We try to position these in your boxes in such a way that it won't cause harm to your plants, but the warmer temps out of season can cause the plants to open, change colors, et cetera. This is a risk you take as a customer if you add a heat pack, obviously we will work with you if something like that happens, but please know the risk associated with heat packs.
We absolutely recommend heat packs if your expected forecast dips below 32 degrees, anything higher than that and your plants will be fine, if not more beautiful when they arrive. Succulents love cold stress and they will be packaged warmly. We used to pull up every single customer's forecast and check the weather ourselves last winter and we added heat packs where necessary, due to the volume of plants we sell we ask that you please make the decision as to whether or not you would like a heat pack on your own. You may add the heat packs free of charge to your order at checkout. If you forget or the forecast changes you may checkout for heat packs for free and we'll see the order and add one, however these heat pack orders need to be in by Sunday morning when we pull the orders shipping for the following week.
We will only add one heat pack per box and heat packs will only be sent to customers with active plant orders, obviously. They cost us a great deal of money every winter and if we see that you need more than one in a large box we will do that, but orders for heat packs without active plant orders will be cancelled. Our heat packs are rated for 72 hours and every order we send out we send out with Priority Mail, typically by Thursday, so you should be covered for the entire trip, even if you are a 3-day customer.
