Echeveria 'Lauii' (Random)

Lauiis continue to be one of our best sellers so it only makes sense we keep some of these in stock for you guys. We will work a little harder to keep our quantities of this coveted rare a little higher.

If you have not had a Lauii yet it's an absolute necessity once you get the hang of rares. There's nothing quite like a mature Lauii. They look like there's a full layer of chalk all over of them. They are beautiful both flawless and imperfect... take away a little of their chalk and they have character and dimension, keep your hands off and they are the whitest succulent ever. They produce a thick coating of farina that is unmatched by any other rare. They are often used in hybrids and crossbreeding because of that valuable coating of farina. You can stress them to unreal shades of pink if you know what you're doing. 

We do not recommend Lauiis for the beginner. Other sellers will tell you this is an easy plant, it's not. You have to let them go without water for long periods of time or they will rot. If you do not protect them from the rain they will rot. Lauiis do not like water and they are unforgiving. We guarantee our Lauiis for 30 days, but we highly recommend that you withhold water until you see fresh roots (this can take one to two months, but do not worry, these are severely drought tolerant). These will not take water from old roots. They have to get thirsty before they will put out fresh roots. Once you see those pink roots still hold off watering for a week, then give them a good drink (and from there be stingy for another two to three weeks and your Lauii will love you). They do not like temps over 95 degrees. So, if you are in a climate that is not suitable you need to be prepared to baby your Lauii and bring them inside on the hottest of summer days. They're tough, but they're worth it. Treat her right and she will bless you with the most beautiful stem of mango blooms you have ever seen. 

Last photo is a photo of a fully mature Lauii with some of the Farina rubbed off from transit, just to give you an idea of what these look like mature. They will get up to about 4" across. 

These random Lauiis will measure in at about 2.5" across.
