I'm old(ish!) and these remind me of a little firework my mom would always let us kids have at the 4th of July, as an adult they make me think of Medusa. There's no other plant like Avonia, truly a weirdo in a class by herself. Each head is monocarpic, but the plant is not-- if that makes sense. She will continue to put out new heads as each head blooms. Even curiousier, blooms last for two hours, so be sure to set an alarm if you want to catch her in the act. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eWe have two of these unique plants on the upload tonight, both the largest we've ever seen.
