PRESALE Echeveria Canary Lauii Hybrid, (Not so Random)
And the Lauii hybrid that you guys always ask us about, this chalky canary beauty is measuring in at about 2.25" across. She may go slightly green in the summer, but these stress to beautiful shades of canary.
Plant Name: Echeveria Lauii or Laui (depending on who you ask, there's always an 'expert' that will try to say definitively it is one way or the other, but we have seen it spelled both ways many, many times for the sake of consistency we go with Lauii, and we always sing "Louie Louie, oh no..." when we handle them and we've heard no complaints).
Size at Maturity: Hard to say, depends on what's she's crossed with. In the 2-4" range.
Stress colors: This is 'the' Lauii hybrid that is the top of everybody's list. She will stress to a gorgeous shade of oh-so-soft canary and feature a heavily dusting of confectioner's sugar.
Care Instructions: Typical Lauii care. Lauiis are prone to rot if you don't establish them before your first drenching. They store a lot of water in their leaves and can go a very long time in between drenchings. Do not over-water, I cannot stress that enough with plants from this subclass. You must wait for her to put out fresh roots before her first watering, even if she ships with an older root system. You can encourage new roots by sticking her in moist organic medium first, pull her out once a week and check for pink root fibers. When you see those move her to a gritty mix and water only the soil, do not allow water to sit in her core rosette, protect from heavy rain. Will actively grow from late spring-late summer, will be semi-dormant in winter through early spring.
