Gorgeous, green and healthy little Aureas. These originate naturally in the Canary Islands. Greenovias are summer dormant and grow in the mild winters.
Right now this mountain rose is closed, which is our favorite form. She will start to unfurl as the nights get cooler in the autumn. The Canary Islands sees on average 0 inches of rainfall from May to September. It is in this greenovia's nature to go dormant to conserve energy during these months and only sparse water is needed to keep 'Sleeping Beauty' happy. Please do not over water your greenovia in the summer months, she won't be putting much, if any energy, into taking water until autumn. You should go ahead and pot her and you can give her soil a light watering every 3-4 weeks to encourage roots underground, but she will most likely root in earnest as she wakes up in the fall.
This Greenovia is mature and densely packed with rows and rows of leaves inside. She's a nice globe shape that measures in at just a hair over 1.5" across her widest point. She is not rooted and will pull a few of her outer leaves over the summer. Arrived on Thursday.
