Amy Britton's face coverings are made from Harris Tweed®, manufactured with 3 layers of a fused soft non-woven lining.

Harris Tweed® is handwoven in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland and the textile is made from pure virgin wool. This definition, quality standards and protection of the Harris Tweed name were established in the Harris Tweed Act 1993.

As such, with these masks being comprised of pure Harris Tweed, they hold natural antibacterial and antimicrobial properties. The waxy coating of the wool fibers help to prevent the growth of mold, mildew and bacteria.

These Harris Tweed masks are washable, reusable, and lightweight (overall weight is 15 grams). You can also use steam and a warm iron on this fabric.

 ________

Tweed is a natural fiber and will always have a faint natural fiber smell. That said, these masks were sealed using a combination of heat and stitching and there is a noticeable smell left over from that sealing process when you first take the mask out of its packaging. This smell fades in about 7-10 days (all masks are packaged in plastic for your protection and this heated tweed smell is much stronger when the masks are first opened). We have kept a few of these and tested them out to make sure they meet our standards and we can assure you the heat seal smell fades and these masks are beautiful and unique.

Other Disclaimers:

⋅ Cloth masks are not medical grade. They should not be worn as personal protective equipment.

⋅ Discard if mask becomes damaged in any way.

Wash and Care Instructions:
