Some Frequently Asked Questions Around Our Rare Succulent Uploads:
During each of our live uploads Crystal (the founder of Cedar Creek Farmhouse) will be online showing off her favorite handpicked rare succulents. Each of the rare succulents offered for sale will have a short video clip accompanying the listing (these videos are taken the day before the live listing, so you can see our succulents from all angles). Crystal is live, behind the scenes at Cedar Creek Farmhouse, documenting in real time the current condition of each plant, measurements and rooting status in each plant's description. These descriptions are honest and true to each plant's current condition.

Why do your items sell out so fast?
We get this question a lot and we are sincerely humbled and honored that our customers tune in each week. For the past year we have seen sellouts of nearly every plant listed during our live uploads. We are sincerely thankful and appreciate you guys so much.

If I add a succulent to my cart does that reserve the succulent I have selected?
No, you must checkout for each plant as you go. The first customer to successfully complete checkout will receive the plant. You may checkout for only one plant or as many as you like, but you will be billed for shipping after the upload. We do combine ship :) Shipping fees will apply to the first purchase, and you will not be charged any additional shipping on subsequent orders. Starting May 7th, 2021, UPS has been our default carrier and our plants are typically in transit no longer than 3 days, with rare exceptions.

When will my succulent ship?
Succulents ship the following Tuesdays after a live upload. , unless you wish to postpone your shipment (which may be done through this link).

What is up with that 'SPECIAL!! JUST CART!!' plant at the end of the upload?
We launched our business in early winter of 2018. Within three weeks we were seeing repeat customers coming back and our listings started to sell out as quickly as we could post them. One of our first customers said to us, "I don't even read the descriptions anymore, I just cart whatever I can get." This stuck with us, it meant that our customers trusted our processes and loved our plants so much that a description wasn't even necessary. In a similar spirit of goodwill and gratitude we now close each listing with a 'Just Cart' that we 'sell' for only $1 (we have to charge something in order for the order to generate with your billing/shipping information).
We feel this is a very important thing to do because let's be real, collecting rare succulents is expensive and some folks who are just getting started with their hobby may join our uploads to see our plants and might not be able to afford to cart anything. We try to keep our uploads accessible and fun for everyone. All we ask in return is that you do not claim more than two Just Carts in any six week period.

Why are your uploads so slow?
We get this question a lot too. At the present time Crystal is the only one at Cedar Creek Farmhouse who can host the uploads. She knows the plants inside and out and she is best suited to answer live questions, describe the plants and detail their current condition. Crystal works about 80 hours a week at CCF in product procurement (for both living and non-living retail), vendor relations, customer service, shipping, plant care/cultivation, along with a myriad of other things that are required to keep CCF running smoothly.
During the live uploads she is literally sitting with a tray of plants next to her and she measures and documents the condition of each plant in real time to keep our descriptions as honest and up to the minute as possible. If there is an extended pause during the upload she may be grabbing a cup of coffee or answering someone's question on the fly :) Usually you can expect a fresh new listing to show up on our homepage every 3-4 minutes during a live upload.
Occasionally our farms will have a surplus of a particular cultivar and if we like it we'll purchase multiple. A 'Random Rare' is simply a plant that is similar to the plant we have shown in our photo, the plant you receive will be extremely similar in size, shape and coloration. What are Mini + Small Assortments? We work with a potter from Korea to produce some itty bitty, super cute little pots in both mini and small sizes. From time to time we will be offering these adorable little pots, a mini arrangement and soil as a set in this category. Mini sets are $25 each, small sets are a little bit bigger and we sell those for $35. We only list in this category when we have enough stock on hand to make the arrangements and they sell out fast. This is new category that we will be releasing shortly. Pup pots are very small cuttings of some otherwise hard to get plants to jumpstart your collection that are very reasonably priced. Prices will start at just $8, including a very small wooden pot (absolutely adorable on an office desk when paired with a high quality lighting strip, such as the Growbar we offer from Modern Sprout).
Our Pup Pot plants will arrive as miniature little specimens, but will quickly need to be repotted as they mature (3-6 months). Pup pots are a really fun way to introduce some hard-to-get plants into your collection or keep a few adorable plants on your desk (trust us-- your coworkers will stop to ask questions, these sets are absolutely precious). Just keep in mind that if you are planning on keeping these indoors you need to invest in a high quality lighting system (and please remember these are the tiniest of specimens).

Do you accept Special Requests?
We used to take special requests on a person-by-person basis, but that snowballed into thousands of requests a month and it got too complicated to keep up with. We are currently updating and plan to reopen our special requests site, that will show you which plants we can get from our farms at any given time. If you have been waiting on this site, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your patience.
With our requests we do charge a small premium on requests because some farms have a minimum purchase amounts and we may have to order hundreds of dollar's worth of plants to secure your requested plant. The final purchase price of your request will be in the range shown in each cultivar's description. You pay nothing up front to put in your request (this is not a presale). When we get your request in we'll show you a little video of the plant to ensure she makes your heart flutter and if she's everything you hoped for you check out for the request at that stage.
