Permanent changes to Cedar Creek Farmhouse Shipping Policy

Change effective February 24th, 2023

 

Our store is unique and because of the wide array of living and non-living products we sell, certain items have special shipping requirements. Most orders ship for $14, but additions of pottery, soil and larger items will have calculated shipping based on package weight.  

 

We are opening a retail location and free store pick up for local customers will be an option in Autumn 2023.

 

Non-Living Retail Orders

-We charge a flat rate of $14 for non-living retail orders and bulbs and tubers.

-Pottery and heavy items have a calculated rate based on weight. You will see a calculated rate at checkout.

-Seeds, greeting cards and other small items ship for a flat rate of $5.

*We ship non-living retail orders the most economical way possible and your order may arrive via USPS or via UPS.

 

Live Plant Standard Delivery (Continental US)

-Each shipment of live plants costs a flat rate of $14 (unlimited number of plants per shipment).

-We use UPS 2-3 day service for live plants.

-We ship on Tuesdays and Wednesday each week, our goal is to have your plants on your doorstep by Friday.

-You are able to add to your order until it ships at no additional charge. Our system will recognize that you have an open order being prepared for shipment and you can continue to add to that box without incurring any additional shipping charges.

 

Live Plant Standard Delivery (Hawaii, Alaska and Islands)

-Each shipment of live plants costs a flat rate of $14. To keep costs low to your area, we have to us USPS and cannot guarantee transit times. If you have extremely rare plants in your order we suggest upgrading your shipment to Express, which is a guaranteed 2-3 day delivery.

-We ship to our customers who live outside of the continental US on Mondays and Tuesdays, the goal is to have your plants delivered by Friday or Saturday.

-You are able to add to your order until it ships at no additional charge. Our system will recognize that you have an open order being prepared for shipment and you can continue to add to that box without incurring any additional shipping charges.

 

Orders with Live Plants and Non-Living Retail

Most of the time we can add to your live plant shipment without incurring any extra charges for small retail items. There are exceptions to this, pots and other heavy items can affect package weights and sizes (and larger non-living retail orders may require us to ship your Live Plant order separately from the rest of your order).

Starting in 2023, if you order live plants and pottery (or other heavy/large items) you will see a calculated shipping rate at checkout.

If you already have an open order in our system and you add non-living retail to it, you may see a small shipping charge at checkout to account for the additional package weight. Most items we can add to your shipment without incurring any additional fees, the added shipping charge mainly applies to pottery and you will see a calculated total to add these items to your package at checkout based on the pottery's weight and size.

 

 

Frequently asked questions

 

When will I be charged for shipping?

You will select your shipping service on your first open order upon checkout. You will not be charged any additional shipping on subsequent orders unless it contains pottery or heavy/large items.

 

When will you ship my order?

Non-Living retail orders ship 2-3 business days from when the order was placed.

Live plant orders ship out on Tuesdays and Wednesday. Our shipments usually arrive by Friday (except for very rare instances).

 

What if I would like to hold my shipments until next week to combine shipping?

That is totally fine, we understand the desire to combine shipments. Please click this link at the end of the upload and enter your preferred ship date. Please ensure your combined shipping date is no longer than two weeks out and make sure you are happy with the ship date entered (as we will automatically ship on that date).

And please know that plants change and settle after arriving at our location. Your plants may pull leaves, open or change color as they start trying to put out fresh roots and settle in. This is part of the process with imported succulents and if we hold your order, your plants may change slightly from the photos/video.

 

Can you ship my plants faster?

-Express shipping is always an option. Express shipping is generally overnight to most areas.

-Express shipping is $35 for live plant orders and you can have as many plants as you'd like in the box (combined shipping rules still apply).

-We strive to have our Express packages out every Monday and Tuesday. This generally means delivery on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

 

Can you still ship plants using USPS to the Continental US?

Unfortunately, due to the ongoing issues surrounding USPS deliveries and the nature of live plants, we will be making a permanent switch to UPS for continental US shipments from this point forward.

While we had been offering USPS Priority Shipping as an option for the last year, we have seen slow shipments, incorrect routing, lost packages, and a lack of tracking. We have had to refund many orders due to these issues with USPS and the impacts of these lost and delayed packages are felt within our business and by our customers.

Please know we are doing this because we genuinely want to ensure safe and reliable deliveries of your CCF orders. It is so important to us that you receive only the healthiest plants and switching to UPS is the best way we know to ensure healthy and happy deliveries.

Thank you again for supporting my small business. Charging for shipping is not something that we want to do, but it is necessary to use UPS to ensure quality shipments on Live Plant orders.

We are only attempting to cover our shipping/packing costs and we do not charge for the time involved in preparing orders.
