Conophytum Obcordellum 'Klaverense,' (Video)

Conos have always been a true love of mine. I don't list them often because they take a very caring nature to grow properly and a tender eye. These go dormant in the heat of the summer, this plant will get dry and be almost in a 'cocoon' state until early autumn. When the days start getting cooler you can mist this plant, but do so gingerly. She may or may not flower late autumn this year.

These grow in the winter months. Most of these are from South Africa, they go into a protective state over the summer to protect themselves from harsh sun and heat and grow in the winter months. There's something so special about caring for a plant that truly goes dormant, each year when they awaken they shed their old skin and renew. It's a beautiful process to watch.

Conos, in my opinion, by square inch are probably some of the most expensive plants in the world. They are cared for by collectors and hobbyists and are really special little plants. Some are not much bigger than a pea. These are small, this set of doubles measures in at about half an inch across, so incredibly tiny. This is our last hybrid of Klaverense and you can see how different they all are. This one is more kidney bean shaped. We'll do one more odd ball listing tonight and then we'll resume tonight's upload tomorrow evening with more of our traditional stuff. It took longer for me to research these than I expected, sorry guys!
